Naples Moving & Storage, Inc. is registered with the State of Florida as a Mover (Registration Number - IM97), and with the US Department of Transportation as a Household Goods Motor Carrier. (U.S.D.O.T. #: 1160157)(I.C.C.M.C. #: 467016)
Make sure you hire a moving company that is insured and licensed.
*
Don't schedule your move for the same day as your home closure or completion of construction. Because of the complicated process delays due to unforeseen variables might occur. Consider booking your move 3-7 days after the estimated day your home should be available.
*
Before the driver leaves do a final walk through the house checking all closets and storage areas to make sure nothing was missed.
*
Provide the driver with contact information in case he needs to reach you during the course of the move.
*
Dispose of flammables such as fireworks, cleaning fluids, matches and aerosol cans. Drain fuel from your power mower and other machinery and discard partly used cans of oil, paint, bleach, or any substance that may leak.
*
Unplug all electronic equipment such as television sets, home computers, stereos, etc. 24 hours in advance of move so they will be at room temperature on moving day. Moving a TV set and other electronic equipment in which heat is still retained could cause internal damage.
*
The items that you will be taken yourself (clothes, papers etc) should be put in one separate place or your car to prevent them from being loaded on the truck.
*
To safe time and your hard earned money disassemble all items that must travel in pieces in advance. For example: take mirrors off of dressers, unbolt headboards from bed frames, disconnect washer & dryer, etc.
